It all started with a clearance cooler at the local grocery store, single serving sizes of Dannon Oikos Triple Zero Greek yogurt were marked down to 60 cents. As a huge fan of Greek yogurt, I could not resist and came home with the Peach and Mixed Berry varieties. Since I’ve been cutting down on my sugar intake, and want to eliminate all that artificial mumble jumble, I was excited to see this product because I’ve been purchasing plain Greek yogurt and adding my own sweetener/flavors, and this way, I get sugar-free flavored Greek yogurt without the extra hassle.
So, what does ‘triple zero’ mean?
- Zero added sugar
- Zero artificial sweeteners
- Zero fat
I really like these numbers, or lack thereof, I should say.
And, did I mention the 15 grams of protein you get per 5.3 ounce serving?
That is a whopping 30% of your recommended daily value (RDV). Also, the yogurt offers 6 grams of fiber, which is 24% of your RDV. Insert happy dance here. And, for that same serving, the total calorie count is only 120 calories.
The yogurt itself is sweetened just right (with stevia), and provides spoonful after spoonful of creamy goodness.
My favorite way to eat the Oikos Vanilla Triple Zero (available in a 32-ounce container) is by combining
- 1 cup of Greek yogurt
- 1 cubed apple
- 1/8 cup of chopped walnuts
- Sprinkle of cinnamon
What a way to enjoy a tasty, protein-packed start to the day, or an energizing lunch! Plus, it is gluten free, wheat free and sugar free.
In addition to the flavors I’ve already mentioned, the Dannon Oikos Triple Zero line also includes Strawberry, Coconut Crème, and Banana Crème (delicious).
Fun Fact: Triple Zero is the ‘official yogurt of the NFL for all of you football fans!
