Made with avocado oil and only two other ingredients (sea salt and corn), Qancha Air-Toasted Heirloom Corn Snack is GMO free, vegan, nut free, and gluten free…and I’m definitely buying a stash in the near future. The corn used for this snack is called Chulpe corn, which is an heirloom varietal grown in the Peruvian Andes. The corn is air-toasted, as opposed to being fried and heavily processed. Some people use the snack as a topper for salads and soups, but I prefer to just munch on it while sitting at my desk.
Qancha looks a bit like uncooked popcorn seeds. I was nervous about the texture of this snack (and feared that they’d be too hard and could break a tooth or something), BUT the snack is surprisingly light and crunchy. I love the crunch and the lightly salted flavor of the corn. Every once in a while, you get a flash of popcorn flavor. Very, very good!
The flavor of Qancha that I received was Original (lightly salted), and after checking their website, I didn’t see any other options available…but I know they can very easily produce a wide range of options and succeed. It’s also a substantial enough snack where you can feel satisfied munching on it – it’s really fun to eat.

The Qancha Air-Toasted Corn Snack is a made-in-USA product that comes from a line of Peruvian snacks produced by a company located in San Francisco, NAZQIZ. I received this sample in one of my monthly subscription boxes…I can’t remember which one.
