Ricola Revitalizing Herb Drops are fun to consume because they produce an interesting response, thanks to an effervescent center that comes cascading out with intermittent spurts of various texture sensations. One moment, you are experiencing a bubbly, tingling of the tongue…and the next, you are greeted by a grittier substance followed by fizzier citrusy-ness.
The Revitalizing Herb Drops are meant to serve as a supplement because they provide adults with 20% of their daily recommended intake of both Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12. Because of this, the product is promoted as a way to restore energy when you pop at least two of the drops. You could also use it to gain an extra boost during cold and flu season.
So, I shared the Ricola Herb Drops with my nephew and mother.
My nephew: I kept asking him if he could taste the fizziness, and he kept saying no, but said that it tastes ‘pretty good.’ Finally, when he did, his reaction was priceless. I’m glad I could capture his response. He even snagged two more for tomorrow. He would have probably eaten the rest of the bag if I’d let him.
The next words out of his mouth: “Can I have another?”
My mother: They are ‘really good…tasty and refreshing.”
The only thing I found somewhat odd about this product was the individual packaging of the drops themselves – it is completely unidentifiable, meaning there are no words whatsoever to indicate what you are eating. If you pass it along to a friend or put them out to share, there is nothing to distinguish the individual pieces from…let’s say…a piece of lemon candy.
One package of the Lemon Zest Ricola Revitalizing Herb Drops contains 18 drops.
One serving of 2 drops equals out to 24 calories and only 6 grams of carbs. Some of the revitalizing ingredients contained in a drop include Ricola’s signature herb mixture of linden flowers, sage, thyme, peppermint, hyssop, elder, horehound, and lemon balm.
In a nutshell, I really like the deep lemon flavor, and the effervescence of each drop. Would I buy for myself? Most certainly.
