Healthy snacking isn’t easy when you’re surrounded by a plethora of overly salty and sweet snacks calling your name. You not only have to worry about what you are eating, but also how much of it. However, with the Sea Salt & Olive Oil Kashi Hummus Crisps that I had the pleasure of sampling for free, you get to enjoy an appetite-satisfying 27 crisps.
My initial thoughts on the taste of the product took a bit of time to sink in. I must admit that I wasn’t completely won over at first bite, but after a few crisps, I gradually found it pretty hard to put them down. I especially like the after-tingle taste of sea salt that I detect when eating a crisp.
Hooray for Fiber! And Other Healthy Details…
I’m a huge fan of fiber, and the 4 grams of fiber in one serving of Kashi Hummus Crisps just makes me smile thinking about it. You’ll satisfy 15% of your daily recommended intake when you snack on the crisps. There is also 3 grams of protein, a smidgeon of iron (4% RDV), and 90 mg of potassium. There is also zero saturated fat…another reason to ditch salty, greasy chips and make the switch to something healthier like the hummus crisps.
Other healthy highlights of the crisps (as stated on the packaging) include ‘no partially hydrogenated oils, no high fructose corn syrup, and no artificial anything.’
Also, take a look at the ingredients list…the number one thing listed is chickpeas. It’s like you’re eating real hummus in chip form that packs quite a crispy crunch.
One serving of 27 Kashi Hummus Crisps is 120 calories.
Other flavors of the crisps to consider include:
- Sundried Tomato, Basil & Feta
- Caramelized Onion
